I have been asked many a times is there a simple way to determine whether any business use cases of AI or Machine Learning is good or bad? Especially with a backdrop of shouts and discussions on the need to create better Artificial Intelligence.
I do not really have a fully-developed framework yet but I always ask myself the following questions to determine if the use case is good or bad. What are the questions?
Will the AI/business decision deny the person opportunities to advance?
Will the AI/business decision put the person impacted in a disadvantaged position?
Will the AI/business decision positively impact the person, allowing him/her to improve his/her life and standard of living?
I hope to keep the newsletter open to as many as possible. :) If you have benefited much from my posts and will like to join my cause, consider making a “book" donation. Link at the bottom of the newsletter or here. :)
These are guiding questions I felt that any company that is using AI can use for every business use case that they have. Of course, it is not exhaustive but I feel it is a good start to understand the impact of the decision your AI actually make.
I felt that these questions are especially important for organizations in education, healthcare and banking since the impact of their decisions has lingering effect, for instance education may impact career in turn the ability of the person to survive.
What do you think about these questions? Do you have other questions that you ask yourself when designing and implementing your business use case? Do share them in the comments below! :)
