Hello everyone!
Yes, it has been a while since my last newsletter to you.
To be honest, I am thinking about how I can value add to all of you as I can see most people are inundated with newsletters that they signed up to. So I have been thinking about it for a while so perhaps, let me use my newsletter to keep you updated with what I have been doing instead, things like new posts, podcasts, books I have read, etc.
So here are the updates:
Posts
If you are a mid-career switcher, thinking of switching over to be a data professional, do check out this post, “Mid-Career Switch to Data Science”
Why is documentation important in a tech job? I did a discussion on this post, “Importance of Documentation in Data Science”
My thoughts on AI going forward in 2021 and beyond, “AI Moving Through 2021”
Most importantly, a gentle reminder as a data professional, “Never Forget, Privacy & Security!”
Symbolic Connection Podcasts
Books I have Read and Recommended
The Alignment Problem by Brian Christian - a great book that detailed out the different types of machine learning and their possible abuse or downside. I especially loved the chapters on Reinforcement Learning as it gives me a quick look at its current landscape.
Think for Yourself by Vikram Mansharamani - this book is something all of us need, that is Critical Thinking. In the book, Vikram describes the current state we are in, especially our overreliance on “experts”, but most importantly, all of us need to be critical thinkers to survive going forward.
Hope you will find this content useful. If you do, please share them with others. Any interaction with the posts such as sharing or dropping me a feedback/compliment will help me a lot, keeping me motivated to share more useful content. :)
If you are looking to keep in touch or provide feedback, feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn. :)
Till we meet again, stay safe and take care! :)
To be honest I urge you to start your Newsletter again. The peer recommendation economy is so much more amplified than the algorithmic feeds you are currently on that don't even give you basic ownership of your list or audience. So you are missing out basically on thousands of new potential readers that you could be an educational force for.
Nobody is really going to notice external links or your LinkedIn profile to be honest, in spite of the gamified KPIs. A lot has changed since 2021 around here and beehiive as well.
